The Cheviot 9000SS has been designed to create the perfect environment for ewes. The design was initially conceived thirty years ago by Ewan McGregor, founder of McGregor Polytunnels. Since then it has only gone through one major development as the building is perfectly suited for it’s purpose.
Created with ewe welfare in mind the 9000 SS is very well ventilated, light and airy. The white polythene sheet creates a cool environment and the building stays dry thoughout the winter months creating the perfect environment for lambing and in-wintering. The highest strength tensar is included on the sides which maintains a steady wind speed of 7mph in virtually any external wind speed, the tensar breaking strain is approximately 3.5 tonnes.
At 9.00m wide the building is ideally suited for a tractor to drive down a central passage leaving 10ft pens on either side or can be used as an open layout to maximise the number of ewes housed.
Utilising our experience of sheep housing we will advise on the perfect setup and requirements for your building. It has been designed to survive high wind speeds and with the addition of optional cross basing and a narrower hoop spacing can be designed to withstand very exposed sites.
